This weekend was a good friend's birthday celebration in Asbury Park. We all had such an amazing time dancing, singing and being silly as usual. The next day, I was exhausted and in a very quirky mood. Cue ridiculous impromptu photo session with Adrienne. I was happy for these sunglasses and later, for coffee.

I read style blogs daily and love to pull inspiration from them on re-mixing clothes. Sometimes I am so inspired by them that I copy looks without even realizing it. For example, last week I posted about an outfit I wore to a friend's bridal shower. Today, I came acrossthisphoto fromJen Loves Kev. Look familiar?
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right guys?
I don't know when it exactly happened, but one day I fell in love with the color orange. Growing up, my mother always dressed me in shades of blue because she said it brought out my eyes. As an adult, I think I am somewhat blued-out and gravitate more towards yellows and browns and oranges.
With my new found love for orange, I saw Kendi wear these shoes and wanted them right away. They have quickly become my favorite shoes and are so dang comfortable!

Today is a very special day...it's my mama's birthday! My ma is a very special lady. She is the most kind and loving person I have ever met. She really has taught me so much and I hope to be as patient a mother when I have children.
With our Pacifc Northwest trip quickly approaching, I have been daydreaming about potential sight seeing outfits. Since we are going in April, the climate typically is mild (falling between 45 and 60 degrees) and we are hoping for limited rainfall. But I suppose some rain is a part of the experience. I'll probably end up schleping around in jeans and flats, but in my daydreams I am dressed in this beautiful outfit.
Do you plan vacation outfits in your head before packing?
Last weekend I attended an 80's themed housewarming party for a girlfriend and as soon as I was invited I knew I wanted to make special cupcakes. I have always wanted to try tie dyed treats and this was the perfect opportunity! I followed the simple vanilla cupcakes recipe and divided the batter into six bowls. Using food coloring, I dyed the different batches and then layered them in the cupcake holders. I loved the finished product!
And in case you were wondering what I wore to the 80's party, please see below. Unfortunately I only had to purchase two things in this whole outfit...
Shirt from Old Navy / Skirt from Brooklyn Industries / Tights and booties from Target
Jacket was a gift from the boyfriend - from Modcloth
This past weekend I attended a bridal shower for a gal I went to college with. It's so crazy that we are at the age that our close friends are beginning to make these steps towards marriage. Or maybe not crazy at all. Remember thinking 26 was old when we were younger? Regardless, I am so excited for my friends who have found true love and who are ready to make such a wonderful commitment. These next few months will be very special and fun. I am really looking forward to witnessing it all.
On a completely unrelated topic, I was frustrated trying to take these outfit pictures because I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot them but the park was very crowded. I am not comfortable (yet) taking outfit photos with people around. I need to start not caring. Anyway, I drove around the corner from the park and stumbled upon this colorful wall mural and decided this was even better. Lucky for me!
In the spirit of tomorrow, here are some of my favorite Valentine's ideas from across the World Wide Web. I love how adorable and creative they all are. I wish I would have attempted to make some craft for this year but I didn't really think of it. I will defininitely be crafting next year!
I love pizza night in my apartment. And I love when my roommate and I decide to try out different variations of a traditional pie (see last recipe here). This week we tried sun dried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, basil and fresh mozzarella cheese. I highly recommend!
The finished product:
Next recipe on the pizza-to-make list? Sweet potato pizza with kale and carmelized onions. Who wants in?
